Eco Silencer Infinity
Installation Instructions
Approved Subfloors
Dry, completely cured concrete (at least 21 days old with HVAC operating)
¾” interior plywood, OSB flooring, and gypcrete (must be primed before glue down)
Cement backer boards, crack isolation membranes
Existing non-damaged hard surface flooring such as tile, wood, and sheet vinyl
Floor Preparation
Subfloor must be clean and dry. Any existing installed flooring must be secure to the floor and non-damaged.
Follow the flooring manufactures installation instructions for additional preparation.
Quick and Easy Installation
Install the Eco Silencer Infinity with the film side UP
Over concrete subfloors – MUST tape the seams to “BLOCK” the moisture vapor
Over wood joist subfloors – Do NOT tape the seams so any moisture vapor can dissipate.
For floating and nail down installations: roll out the underlayment next to the wall. Roll out the next row in the same manner butting the underlayment to the first row (do not overlap). On concrete subfloors -Tape the seams. On wood joist subfloors – Do NOT tape the seams.
For double glue down installations: Vinyl plank flooring - use a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive on the subfloor. It is recommended when glueing down vinyl plank, install underlayment with the silver film down against the subfloor to eliminate the silver film from showing through any slight gapping that occurs with vinyl plank expansion and contraction. Wood based flooring – use a urethane or similar bond strength adhesive on the subfloor. Use a 1/16” – 3/32” towel and spread a thin coat. Allow to flash before rolling out the underlayment as described above. Roll with a 75-100 lb. roller to smooth out any air pockets and to secure a good bond to the adhesive.
Install the flooring over the underlayment per the flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions.
