QUICK AND EASY INSTALLATION cuts with a knife
1. Install Silencer LVT ™ with film UP for floating installations.
2. For floating installations, roll out underlayment next to wall. Roll out next row in same manner
butting underlayment to first row (do not overlap). Seal the seams with moisture
resistant tape. Floating vinyl planks must be a minimum thickness of 3.2mm.
4. Install flooring according to the vinyl manufacturer’s installation instructions.
*****INSTALLATION GUIDE NOTE*****
Concrete slabs may be subject to higher moisture levels; a calcium chloride test is required. Vapor emission readings in excess of 7 lbs./1000sf in less than 24 hours will require additional protection such as concrete sealant, moisture abatement, or 6 mil poly-ethylene sheeting. (please follow flooring OEM's instructions verbatim with regards to subfloor prep). It is mandatory to properly prep the subfloor to meet/exceed OEM installation instructions.
Since we offer the industry's best warranty and track record and are willing to replace another company's floor parts and labor should our product fail, a properly prepared subfloor that meets/exceeds every major OEMs subfloor prep protocol is mandatory.
Shrinkage is NOT caused or controlled by the Silencer LVT underlayment; it is due to the inherited properties of the LVT/LVP Flooring. Should shrinkage of the flooring occur, FPC is not responsible.
